Reverse Osmosis "ZEAL-RO”

Water constitutes nearly 70% of the human body. Most of the Nutritionist advises drinking eight glasses of water in a day in order to have smooth functioning of the body and its process. But drinking plain water is not enough. It is necessary that the water should be pure and free from the contaminants and impurities. From all the filter methods used today for drinking water, Reverse Osmosis is the commonly used filter method which provides outstanding drinking water for the workplace as well as homes.

Reverse osmosis water treatment uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove impurities from water and this goes beyond the abilities of typical water filtration. It has a chemical-free option to provide clean and great-tasting drinking water. If we talk in simpler terms, reverse osmosis is the process in which water is passed through the semi-permeable membrane. The contaminants present in it are left behind the membrane and drained out while the water passes through it. The clean water obtained through this process gets collected in a holding tank.

Why Reverse Osmosis?

There are various benefits for which you need to consider using RO water plant

  • Removes Impurities: The filters present in the RO system removes the pollutants and contaminants such as sulfates, bacteria, arsenic, nitrates and many more.
  • Improvement in the taste of water: The RO filtration removes the pollutants which affect the odor and taste of the water, hence improving its taste and odor.
  • Less Maintenance: The parts of RO systems are quite easy to clean and can be repaired in a quite smooth and effective manner.
  • Saves Money: As there is less maintenance required for its repair, it helps us in saving money otherwise would be expensive if more service and maintenance would be required.

There are basic components of RO water treatment plant or system which helps in the filtration and purification of water

  • Water Line Valve: This is the valve through which the water enters the system for purification.
  • Pre-filters: After entering the RO system, the water first passes through the pre-filter first. It removes dirt, sand silt and other impurities which can damage the RO membrane.
  • Reverse Osmosis Membrane: This membrane is the main part of this system. This is semi-permeable in nature which removes a large variety of contaminants and impurities. The water then gets stored in a storage tank where the treated water is stored.
  • Automatic Shut-off Valve: After the water gets stored in the tank, the automatic shut-off valve closes in order to stop more water to enter the tank.
  • Check Valve: Located at the outlet of the RO membrane, it prevents the backward flow of the clean water from the RO storage tank.
  • Storage Tank: the vessel in which the treated water is stored.
  • Faucet: The RO unit has its own faucet through which the clean water is accessed.
  • Drain line: Runs from the outlet end of the RO system which is used to drain out the contaminated water.

Factors affecting the Performance of RO Water purifier

In order to have the best performance from RO water purifier, it is necessary to know what are the factors which can affect its performance. Some of them are listed below

  • Water pressure: If the incoming water pressure is less than 40-85 psi or very low, it will not operate properly.
  • The temperature of Water: in comparison with the regular temperature, cold water takes more time to filter.
  • TDS: Number and types of total dissolved solids (TDS) present in the tap water.
  • Quality: The quality of the filters, equipment, and membranes used in the RO water treatment plant can also affect the RO process.

How long the RO system works without any hassles?

There are various factors which can affect the lifespan of the RO water purifier. If the proper care of the RO system is done according to the prescribed manual by the company such as periodic cleanings and changing of membranes and filters on time, it should have a long life-span of around 7-10 years.
