Chemical Dosing Systems
Dose for the process, not by assumption.
Chemical dosing connects a treatment objective to a controlled addition. Chemical compatibility, calibration and operator access matter.
The product’s role
Most treatment plants depend on chemicals added in the right amount at the right time: coagulants, pH correctors such as lime or sodium hydroxide, antiscalants, disinfectants. Too little and treatment fails. Too much wastes money and can harm the next stage. Demand also changes through the day, rising at morning peaks and falling at night, so dosing has to follow the flow.
Our dosing skids use metering pumps in duty and standby, so one keeps running while the other is serviced. Pumps can follow flow or pH signals through the plant's control system, with alarms if a pump fails or blocks. We design, supply, install and maintain them, and fix dosing faults on existing plants.
The practical need
Changing flow, unsuitable wetted materials and unverified pump settings can undermine treatment.
Select the right configuration
Chemical and material compatibility
Define chemical duty and feed conditions.
Pump and tank duty
Select compatible components.
Injection arrangement
Integrate injection and controls.
Control and calibration plan
Check delivery and document operating settings.
How it fits into the system
Chemical tank
The chemical is prepared and stored in a tank, with a mixer where a solution must stay uniform.
Metering pump
A duty pump delivers a measured dose. A standby pump takes over during faults or servicing.
Flow-paced control
Dose rate follows flow or a pH reading, rising at peak demand and falling at night.
Injection point
The chemical enters the pipe or tank through an injection fitting, where it mixes with the water.
Monitoring
Level, flow and residual readings confirm the dose, with alarms if a pump fails or blocks.
Selection & supply scope
- Application inputs
- Chemical, concentration, dosing duty, material compatibility, flow conditions and control interface.
- Confirm in the proposal

Options
Coagulant dosing
Feeds alum or similar coagulants ahead of clarifiers and filters in water and effluent plants.
pH correction
Doses lime or sodium hydroxide to bring water or effluent to the right pH for treatment or discharge.
Disinfectant dosing
Feeds sodium hypochlorite in proportion to flow for drinking water and treated sewage.

Use, care & expected benefit
A clearer basis for chemical and material compatibility and control and calibration plan, supported by an operating approach suited to the application. Actual performance depends on the final design, conditions and operation.
Follow the selected equipment instructions, agreed operating procedures and maintenance schedule. Spare parts, consumables and service inclusions are confirmed for the model and proposal.

Questions before the next step
Can the same pump handle any chemical?
No. Chemical concentration, materials, duty and manufacturer guidance must be checked for the selected equipment.
What is needed for an enquiry?
Chemical and material compatibility, application details, available records, site constraints and the required delivery scope.
Why have a standby pump?
Metering pumps have wearing parts that need servicing. A standby pump keeps dosing going while the duty pump is repaired, so treatment does not stop.
Which chemicals can be dosed?
Coagulants, lime or sodium hydroxide for pH, antiscalants, and disinfectants such as sodium hypochlorite. Pumps and materials are chosen to suit each chemical.
Can you fix dosing on a plant someone else built?
Yes. If pumps fail, block or dose inaccurately, we find the cause and repair or replace what is needed, then can maintain it under an AMC.
